Old Sequential Artwork

I was sorting through old work and found these - the beginning sketched pages of Proposals and The Ugly Bug Ball in graphic novel form. Talk about a time warp. With that amount of pencil work I don't think I'll ever finish them, but I thought I'd share for those still here who might remember.

Much of my work these days is in puppet fabrication - which I try to post weekly updates over on Instagram. But I am still diligently working on OniSan which is both puppets and graphic novel. Normally I post progress to that on my newsletter, but if things keep chugging along as they have been lately...there may be more public announcement posts popping up this year. Exciting!!

Hoping you have all survived 2018 and are as thrilled as I am to be starting off 2019 with a renewed energy and optimism!

More Sketches!!

Some Life Drawing practice for my D&D character, Fyedka. Good fun. POSE REFERENCE BY THE LOVELY SENSHISTOCK.

Some photos of the model I built for the Naru Residence. Made of Bristol Paper, Illustration board and foam core base....and lots of tape. As I was building this I was kindly informed that I could just build it in SketchUp, taking only minutes as opposed to an evening. But I had fun using my HANDS and HOLDING it - just more substantial, more of an achievement in my eyes. Of course now I have to figure out how to store it...or finish it...hmmm.

More speed paintings!! My cell phone, my flash drive, my shiny new Olfa knife and the keyboard in front of me. Not really crazy objects, but surprisingly challenging none the less.

Summer 2011 > AS:P

This is an oil portrait (Acrylic under painting) I did this last Wednesday (Because I was bored during LP2) of my character Rieda Samejima [Naru] from my personal project, A-Sutenki: Proposals. This is the side project that has the most of my attention at the moment, so chances are good that Proposal characters will turn up quite a bit in the near future.
